Top 5 Events to Experience in Your RV in 2025

Whenever I ask fellow RVers what makes RV life so special, the most common answer is always “the experiences.” RV living is all about embracing new and unique adventures, and events often serve as the perfect gateway to them. That’s why I’m sharing the top five events you won’t want to miss in your RV.

The Best Events to Experience by RV

01

Pride Parades

You might be surprised that this is number one, but if you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or are an ally, these events are a great way to make friends. This year, I had the opportunity to attend the Las Vegas Pride Parade and met some amazing people. Many cities host unique pride parades, so I suggest checking your RV itinerary to see if any align with your route.

02

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Imagine opening your RV door to see a sky full of colorful hot air balloons. Well, that can be your reality if you attend the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. This event takes place every year in October in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is a must for your RV events bucket list.

Tip: On-site RV sites at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta sell out almost a year in advance so pre-planning is very important. However, if the spots are full, you still have the option of staying at an RV park nearby to see the magic of the hot air balloons.

03

Burning Man

Yes, your RV might get a little dusty, but it’s absolutely worth it. Burning Man, held in Black Rock City, Nevada, is a one-of-a-kind cultural experience. The best part of bringing your RV? Having your own shower to rinse off all that desert dust. And if your RV is solar-powered and equipped with Starlink internet, you might forget you’re in the middle of nowhere when you settle in for the night.

Tip: Burning Man is a ticket-based event and tickets can sometimes be sold out. There is a bit of advanced planning needed, but it is absolutely worth it.

04

Quartzsite Big Tent Show

I know what you’re thinking… “Yikes, an RV show?! I already have an RV!” But don’t worry, the Quartzsite Big Tent Show is a lot more than just an RV show. Many RVers and Van Lifers camp in Quartzsite throughout the winter due to the extremely low camping fees and warmer weather. Quartzsite, Arizona during January is its own cultural experience. You never know just who you might meet at a campfire.

Tip: If you’re camping in Quartzsite, having solar power can be a game-changer. Outside of RV parks, amenities are extremely limited. Most campers opt for BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land, where there are no water, sewer, or electrical hookups. Of course, you can always choose to stay at an RV park in Quartzsite if you prefer more convenience.

05

Escapees RV Events

Ok, if you have ever wanted to attend events that feel like you’re a part of an adult summer camp, Escapees events are almost that. The Escapees is an RV club that hosts large events themed around education, community, and adventure. Attending these can be a great way to build your RV community and have some fun doing so.

06

Bonus: Local Events

One of my favorite ways to make the most of RV life is by attending local events. From charming small towns to bustling cities, there's no shortage of unique local events to explore.

Recently, I had the chance to attend the Las Vegas BBQ Festival and savor some of the most delicious barbecues from the city’s top chefs. While in Vegas, I love using the Discotech app to snag free guest list tickets for concerts—it’s an incredible way to see my favorite artists without breaking the bank. Best of all, I can head back to the comfort of my RV and sleep in my own bed.

What Makes an Event RV Friendly?

Accessibility

Personally, for an event to be RV friendly it means that I can park my RV in either the parking lot of the event or I can park in an RV park relatively close to the event. I’ve noticed that many fairs now offer dedicated on-site RV parking, making them increasingly RV-friendly and convenient for attendees.

Sense of Community

Throughout this article, I’ve repeatedly emphasized the importance of building a sense of community in RV life. More often than not, it’s not the destinations that leave the biggest impact—it’s the people you share those adventures with. This rings true both in RV life and beyond. The events I’ve highlighted are not only exciting but are also ones that the RV community frequently gathers to experience together.

My Biggest Advice

Attending an event in your RV requires some planning in advance. Many events require tickets for on-site RV parking, so it’s important to check ahead and secure your spot.

RV life becomes even more special when you immerse yourself in unique events. Whether you're looking to connect with others, savor mouthwatering BBQ, or enjoy a family-friendly fair, your RV is the perfect way to do it comfortably. This year, I’ve started incorporating RV events into our travels, and it’s added a whole new level of excitement to our experiences.

Fifth Wheels

Popular among extended travel RVers, fifth wheels are designed for easier, more stable towing. Living space is maximized with additional over-cab space. This camping trailer—affectionately nicknamed a "fiver"—is a favorite of many, especially those taking extended trips or traveling full time in their RV. The prominent overhang resting above the tow truck bed is frequently employed as a bedroom suite, a living room, even a kitchen.
