After years of unforgettable adventures in Vinnie, our trusty Thor Motor Coach Sequence 20L, we found ourselves ready for our next home on wheels—one that offered just a little more space while maintaining the mobility and versatility we loved in our Class B.

Enter our 2021 Thor Motor Coach Delano 24RW, a tiny yet mighty Class C motorhome that perfectly balances the compact drivability of a van chassis with the spacious comfort of a Class C.

The Delano has quickly become our ultimate home on wheels, combining everything we loved about our previous RV with exciting new features that make life on the road even better. From the layout to its luxurious details, this RV was designed to meet our every need, and it’s already proven itself as the ideal companion for our adventures.

Why We Chose the Thor Delano 24RW

The decision to purchase the Thor Motor Coach Delano 24RW wasn’t made lightly. After years on the road, we knew exactly what we wanted in our next RV: something small and nimble for easy driving, yet spacious and comfortable enough for extended stays.

The Delano stood out immediately because it offered the best of both worlds. Built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, it has the maneuverability and fuel efficiency of a Class B, but with two slides, it transforms into a roomy, functional living space when parked. This layout provided the separate living, sleeping, and bathroom areas we’d been craving, plus a dry bath—a luxury upgrade from the wet bath in Vinnie.

What Makes the Delano Special?

When shopping for our next RV, we knew we wanted a small Class C motorhome that was still on a van chassis, for its perfect blend of drivability and comfort. Some of us long-time RVers unofficially call this a Class B+. The Thor Delano 24RW turned out to be the ideal layout and ticked every box on our wish list.

One of the biggest draws was the clear separation between living and sleeping spaces. With the two slides, the living area feels open and inviting, while the bedroom provides a private retreat with a full-size Murphy bed. This level of functionality and comfort was a game-changer for us and our two pups, Wilson and Journey.

How It Fits Our Lifestyle

The Delano 24RW fits seamlessly into our RV lifestyle because we spend so much time on the road, and we travel thousands of miles while we do it. Its compact size makes it easy to navigate cities, backroads, and campsites, while the spacious interior feels like a true home. The slides allow us to spread out, making it perfect for both workdays and relaxing evenings.

The solar setup and built-in generator ensure we can boondock without worrying about power, and the easy access to amenities during travel days means we can stop for lunch, use the bathroom, or grab a snack without missing a beat.

Reclining Loveseat
Perfect for movie nights or catching up on emails, this comfy seat is directly across from the big-screen TV.
Murphy Bed
We love having a separate bedroom that doesn’t take up extra space during the day and doesn’t have to be converted from bed to living/work space when parked for days at a campsite.

This adds flexibility for guests or extra storage when it’s just us.

The Delano in Action

Since bringing the Delano home, we’ve already traveled across the country from west to east, with stops in Florida, North Carolina, and the Utah mountains—a favorite destination in this or any rig. In 2025, we’re planning to take it everywhere from Canada to Baja, Mexico, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes us.

A Day in the Delano

Our days in the Delano are a mix of work, exploration, and relaxation. Mornings always start with coffee—Rocio’s in bed and mine at the dinette or on the recliner. After coffee, weather and schedule permitting, we love to go for a hike with the dogs or do a little sightseeing. Afternoons are spent working from our mobile office setup—Rocio at the dinette and me on the loveseat.

Evenings are for winding down with a home-cooked meal, a movie, or a good book. As expected, the reclining loveseat is our go-to spot for movie nights, but we also love the option of retreating to the bedroom for a cozy night in since the bedroom has a TV as well.

Life on the Road

The 2021 Thor Delano 24RW has transformed our RV lifestyle, giving us the space, comfort, and flexibility we need to thrive on the road. Whether we’re chasing sunsets in the mountains and deserts or setting up camp by the ocean, this rig has been our ticket to new adventures and unforgettable memories.

Class C Motorhomes

Class C motorhomes offer outdoor experiences for larger families at a lower price point than Class A Motorcoaches. Recognizable by their raised sleeping or storage areas which extend over the cab of the RV, Class C Motorhomes offer more living space than Class B Motorhomes but are smaller in size and can offer better gas mileage than Class A Motorcoaches.
