Why do you like it here?
Quiet solitude and endless views. There’s so much to do in the area, we ended up staying over a week when we’d initially planned for a couple of days. Did I mention, no reservations needed and it was free?
What’s your favorite part about this view?
360-degree views of the cliffs with the jade-colored water of the Colorado River below. We would drink our morning coffee on the edge of the canyon and watch the rafters float by below. The skies are incredible, too–utterly dark at night. We also met a biologist from the Peregrine Fund who studies the California condors right from this site. He shared information with our daughter that left a significant impact on her.
How do you decide where to go next?
We don’t plan too far ahead, but we use the Roadtrippers app to find places we want to see in each state. We try to map out a logical journey and leave some room for spontaneous detours or more extended stays.
What’s one piece of advice you have for RVers?
Go boondocking. Some of our best views have been on free land. We love a good RV park too, but you just can’t beat some of the views off the beaten path.
Who do you wish you could share this view with?
My mother. She loved camping and being outdoors under the stars.
